Welcome back to the Pimp-Out/Showcase Hop!!!
Brought to you by Deezy Does It!
This "Weekly" Pimp-Out/Showcase Hop is to gain new followers as well as bring more traffic to your blog and at the same time receive greater exposure. It is also a great way to meet other bloggers, exchange ideas, get great tips and learn new techniques all while showing your "art".
Before we begin, there are just a few simple rules to the hop.
2. Follow the showcased blogger: Clueless Crafter
3. Link up your blog at Deezy Does It! using Linky Tools to gain new followers.
4. Visit at least 3 blogs from the linked up list below and leave a comment. Let them know you came from the Weekly "Pimp-Out/Showcase" Hop and inform them you are a follower so they can return the favor.
~Please remember that if someone from the hop follows you, be sure to return the favor~
This week's Pimp-Out/Showcase belongs to Jennifer from Clueless Crafter
Hi, my name is Jennifer and I have been crafting for a long time! Apparently since 1969! That’s when I got a copy of Miss Patch’s Learn to Sew by Hand at a book fair in school. Not sure that I made anything out of it, I but I still have that book!
My maternal grandmother taught me how to crochet a chain stitch many moons ago and then I advanced to granny squares. I still have the hook she taught me with and it is my favorite one to use. (As you can tell, I never get rid of anything!)
I have been scrap-booking since about 2000. I still do some sewing and am crocheting more. Lately I like to look at something and decide what else I can do with it before tossing it out in the trash! I love re-purposing items!
Recently, I have discovered 3d paper crafting items and love to create them! I am also hooked on painting, not pictures but things!
The project I created for the Pimp-Out/Showcase hop is an altered canvas. I painted the edges of the canvas with basic acrylic paints. (I only did the edges and a little onto the top so that there wasn’t that bright white showing. This step is optional.) While that dried, I painted a few other things as I was bored (but hey, I got another project done!)
The embellishments at the tops are just jeweled shamrocks that have been in my stash. I created the banner by modge podging a piece of scrapbook paper and cutting out diamonds. I have huge stash of embroidery floss (are you really surprised by this?) so I braided the colors of the Irish flag and used that to hang the banner that says “Slainte’) It’s an Irish greeting of well wishes!
I hope you like my project. I think my total cost might have been $2.50! I had everything on hand except the canvas. I have been trying to pick them up on sale so I have them when something inspires me! I was happy that I was able to use some products from my unbelievably large stash! Seriously, if you need it, I probably have it!
Thanks to Wanda from Deezy Does It! for spotlighting me!

When the paint was dried, I
painted modge podge on the entire top and sides of the canvas. I used a simple
sponge brush. (and yes while that was drying I modge podged the other project).
I think I ended up with a good 2-3 coats on the canvas.
When it was thoroughly dried, I lightly misted the back of my scrap-book paper. (Someone suggested this hint as it allows the paper to adhere to the canvas a bit better). Again, I modge podged the paper onto the canvas, allowing time to dry in between coats.
While
it was drying, I remembered I had this awesome Claddah paper piecing that I
have had for years. I think I got it from when I was active in a yahoo scrap
book group. (no Facebook in those days!) I thought it went well so I chose that
for the corner piece.
The embellishments at the tops are just jeweled shamrocks that have been in my stash. I created the banner by modge podging a piece of scrapbook paper and cutting out diamonds.
